In 2013 I bought a digital camera, even though I loved taking pictures something never felt right, it never felt home.
It was in 2017, while walking in Melbourne I came across FilmNeverDie. They only dealt in film camera's and used to help film amateurs like me to get started. Apart from shooting almost no film, taking a total of 3 shots before in my life, I was completely unaware how a film camera worked.
You see being from a middle-class Indian family it was really expensive to
a:) Own a decent camera.
b:) To be able to shoot photos and get them developed.
But I digress.
As soon as I picked up my first film camera which happened to be an Olympus OM10, I fell in love.
The above is the very first roll that I shot and still have it with me. In retrospect I think this is the picture that clicked something inside my heart.
I loved shooting it as much as I could. The tactile feeling, being in the moment and connected to the world passing by. Since then, I've owned several cameras, tried several types of film and though I'm not a professional by any means I have made my fair share of errors and learnt from them.
In coming days, I will upload a lot more, so anyone who lands on this page by mistake. Stay tuned!
